WR Harvey is a superb dealer, and there sound reasons for this. First, Mr. Harvey is honest, a (sad to say) somewhat unusual feature in the antiques business. He is candid, presents accurate pictures of his goods on his site, and can be trusted. I have purchased many items from him. I know when I buy from him I am purchasing with confidence the goods that were pictured and described. Second, he is very knowledgeable. He knows his business, and knows the furniture and other items he sells. Third, his prices are reasonable considering the truly superb quality he offers. I have compared what he is selling to what is available in the USA where I live, and he offers very good value. Surprisingly, many of the antiques he sells are a better value than the custom made reproductions available in the USA. Fourth, the shipping process is reliable, and all of the seven items I have purchased in the last two years have arrived in unblemished condition. Fifth, Mr. Harvey was willing to work with me to find what I wanted, and had the patience to keep a keen eye out for my target item. This is a terrific service. In summary, this is a superb, honest dealer. I have spent a fair amount with WR Harvey, have never been in person to Witney, but I feel as if I know him well. I certainly trust him, and other customers should too. You will, I predict, be delighted to do business with WR Harvey.
I felt I should take a moment to review W R Harveys Antiques. Having done business with the firm since their days in Old Bond Street I am pleased to say the experiences have been nothing but positive. David Harvey not only has some of the finest stock, he is also a true enthusiast in his realm. Always willing and eager to share his knowledge of the pieces in his showroom, David is very hands on. I have watched him work on gently cleaning away decades-worth of accumulated wax and dirt to reveal the underlying beauty of the grain on a lovely old music stand and the joy it gave him was apparent. I should add here that it is a pleasure to walk through the premises - the pieces are always displayed in an appealing and natural manner. I am astonished by Davids ability to recall the details of transactions which took place years earlier, and he has worked with me on several occasions to find new homes, when necessary, for pieces I had acquired from him. If you are interested in high quality, often unusual, antiques, particularly from the era focused around the 18th Century, Harveys should be on your list.
