Great place for all the family with great bar.
Have stayed before, so thought a couple of nights would be nice as we had our granddaughter for one night, we had a hard pitch which was great. Disappointed that the shop/takeaway closed earlier than the time advertised on the notice, so we had to go into Witney for fish & Chips. This was 4/5 September when we stayed.
Very nice place to stay, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The lakes are well worth walking round, such beautiful clear water. The boat shed bar is really nice too, friendly staff and great food, plus dog friendly which was a bonus!
In a nice area, and a nice site but a little disappointed we were given a very sloped pitch so had to pitch horizontally, we told the young warden Louis who was very nice & explained the size & shape of the tent, he said that was fine. There were plenty of flat pitches available, The following evening a caravan arrived to be pitched next to us & the older male warden kept making comments about how we were pitched but never approached us. We then felt there was an awkward atmosphere with the neighbours who never spoke. The site rules aren't followed or enforced lots of children playing football on the site & no ball games allowed. There is a big area in between lake & site for games, empty. It didn't really bother us but 15 children playing football was a lot. At one point it was close to a bottle of wine on our table being knocked over. It was the facilities that were a bit disappointing, not really enough for the size of the site, just 1 block. Very busy & left messy a lot of the time, 1 day/night the ladies had not been cleaned at all. But generally they were cleaned well. The showers not ideal, very powerful but nowhere to put your washbag & shoes even if left your shoes outside the cubicle they still got wet. No sink cubicles so nowhere to have a private wash apart from a shower. The shop was well stocked & the bar a nice area with outside seating. The ladies in reception were very pleasant & helpful and lots of information and leaflets.Just a shame the facilities weren't better thought out.
Lovely holiday park. We stayed in a caravan which was great. Beautiful setting with country walks around the lake which also has swimming areas. Also waterports which were very good.
