Called on saturday to ask a few questions about a property and the lady who answered the phone was very rude. I opened the conversation with 'Hi, I have seen a property on right move and would like the know a few details about it please?' to which her response was 'Well all the details are on right move so what could you possibly need to know.' and I thought this was an awful response. I will not be using andrews for 2 reasons now, one being the poor customer service and the other reason being the extortionate fees they charge!!
As a family who have been renting homes for many years, these are by far the WORST letting agent we've dealt with, and they didn't even manage the property we rented! Our private landlords purely used them for contracts and signing which at first was fine. We then lived in the property for 5yrs happily. Every single communication with Andrews was made difficult. Their fees are ridiculous (120 to reprint the same contract and sign it....seriously?) and the staff unfriendly and unhelpful. We have NEVER had issues with deposits, and tbh we didn't this time either, but it took Andrews nearly 15 business days to get the deposit back to us and getting a response from them was like getting blood out of a stone. We would contact the landlord to check he was happy, which he was. Then contact Andrews to confirm to which they would blame someone else for not telling them something and promising they would get back to us. Low and behold, 3 days pass and nothing. Eventually they confirmed all was signed off and it still took them nearly five days for the money to be returned to us. Utterly ridiculous. I would recommend avoiding this agent if at all possible.
I appreciate estate agents don't do much. Especially in the rental market. Sometimes I just wish they could pretend they know what they are talking about. I don't know about you but I prefer being wined and dined before I have my trousers pulled down, unfortunately Andrews haven't heard of foreplay. We were shown around a house this weekend and the agent didn't know if we had a parking space, didn't know what council tax band the house was and couldn't even let us into the back garden but still thought it was appropriate to get us to sign a form to hold the property. Don't get me wrong your all pretty useless, I was lucky enough to be shown around about 8 different properties at the weekend by 4 different estate agents and none of you seemed to know the difference between a window and a door, but Andrew's was by far the worse.
Poor communication throughout from the local branch, and also head office. Would not recommend.
